How did you start making music? What made you choose the folk genre?
I have been making music since childhood and knew what I wanted and should become. One day, my mother and I were driving in the car, and the song "Hit the Road Jack" was playing on the radio. I started singing it quite well in my own style, and my mother was surprised, realizing that I had a talent for it, after that she enrolled me in vocals.
What made you choose the folk genre?
I have been performing folk music since childhood, and I have always liked how my timbre is revealed in folk songs.
What is your role as a performer and composer - do you write only for yourself or do you want to convey something important to others?
In my songs, I try to leave my feelings and sensations that I want to convey to my listeners through it. And also, perhaps, to help someone find themselves in these songs or inspire something good and bright.
What is more important to you: creating music or performing it?
I love creating and performing, both aspects are equally important to me. When creating a song, I imagine a lot, look for unusual samples that will sound interesting and give an unusual “aftertaste”. During the performance, I give people energy and, splashing out my emotions, I try to enchant them with my singing!
Tell us about the process of writing your music. Where do you usually start?
I get inspired by some event, sometimes a place or even a dream, then I start from my idea, select a melody, and in the process the lyrics are written and samples are selected, and then - bringing it to perfection.
Do you have any stories related to your songs that you could tell?
From the latest: my inspiration for the song “Lullaby” was a very unusual and mesmerizing dream in which I looked at my body from the outside. This prompted me to start spinning it in my head, philosophizing. That's how the song was born.
If you could record a duet with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Of the impossible: I would like to do a feat with Crystal Crystals (the band, unfortunately, has already broken up) and, of course, with Viktor Tsoi. Of the modern ones - with Basta and Erika Lundmoen.
How do you choose outfits for performances or events? What is most important to you?
I get inspired by music, imagine myself on stage in relation to its scale and the power of light, and then to choose an image I look for references and select details that will catch the eye.
Your images always attract attention. Which brands or designers do you especially like?
P.p.s brand and you wanna, I really love many modern Russian brands. I try to discover them for myself at various events, festivals, forums. I especially love handmade products.
What event in your life became a significant turn in your career?
The realization that I have a lot of creative ideas, and now is the time to act, since there is no ideal moment. I was also inspired by the performance in 2022 at the League "Forum", we went out of town to nature, lived in tents, underwent training, and I was assigned to perform a folk song. When my colleagues sang, everyone listened and clapped, sitting in their seats. When I came out, people started running to the stage, spinning a huge round dance and dancing, it inspired me a lot! Just imagine: forest, steppe and people dancing in a circle around! I felt like a sorceress. It was at that moment that a mad desire to start creating my first hit was born.
How do you see your music in a few years? What could it become?
I see my music as world-class, and I would like it to become legendary over time. Of course, I try to make every effort to this, since, I repeat, there will be no ideal moment.
